The sun came out!
So I rushed back to the Charles River Peninsula to photograph what I couldn't get this morning. Start with a lovely chickadee with her beak in a crab-apple blossom.
Alas, as expected, the warblers (except for the yellows) were nowhere to be seen. But what was that? A cuckoo? (Lily says the bill is yellow so I'm going with yellow-billed cuckoo). I haven't seen one for decades. It pays to look.
I have a couple of months to get a decent oriole photo, but here is a long distance shot of the guy with the song that I heard last year.
And here comes a rose-breasted grosbeak, singing on the wing, and then popping up into a tree. Hear it sing (I swear, it is not a robin).
