Brown Thrasher, Sandy Point Beach, Newburyport, MA |
Grading finished and skies clear of rain (for the most part) I took the annual May drive up to Newburyport to search for warblers. Warbler hunting was poor--I got there too late and the weather was too blustery for prime out-in-the-open everyone-singing Hellcat action. So I had to look for highlights elsewhere.
This time it was Sandy Point that came through--a couple large rafts of long-tailed ducks. I don't known long-tails that well so I was delighted to have some time to study them. (Click on the images for better views).
