Great Blue Heron with nesting material, Seekonk, MA
The contractors and delivery guys at Home Depot in Seekonk all know about the Great Blue Heron nests behind the building. My folks (who live in the area) and I didn't learn about it until this year but made a bee-line there as soon as we did.
It is a medium size heronry, with 5-10 nests (visible at least). It seems that courtship phase has already passed and the herons have settled down to nest building.
Some already seem to be sitting. And preening...
Also near Home Depot in Seekonk, bonus cell tower osprey nest.
